Free credit

Create an account and verify your email to get a key with free credit on it. It is enough for testing, demos, student and hobby projects, and integration checks.

The key belongs to your account and does not rotate. Paste it into your project once and it keeps working — the daily top-up refreshes the balance on that same key, so nothing in your code has to change.

Free credit covers a set of low-cost models and carries a per-key rate limit. Add paid credit for higher limits and access to premium models.

Note

Shared public keys are no longer published. Anyone using one previously should create an account — a key that is yours alone cannot be exhausted by someone else.

Usage checks

Use the playground to verify whether a key still works before adding it to your app. For local development, keep keys in environment variables and rotate them when the GitHub README publishes a fresh batch.

Higher availability

For higher availability, use your own account controls and operational limits. The public project is optimized for discovery, examples and temporary access, not guaranteed production traffic.
